Every great comic lead needs a foil, and for Old Master Q (老夫子) — the Hong Kong comic icon created by Wong Chak in the 1960s — that role belongs to Big Potato (大蕃薯), his good-natured, eternally unlucky best friend. Aint Production, the Hong Kong brand behind the licensed Old Master Q 60th Anniversary line, follows its HKCC-01 Old Master Q release with HKCC-02 Big Potato: a fully articulated 1/12 figure loaded with the comic’s signature gag accessories.

The package

Big Potato gets the same treatment as his partner: a fully poseable 1/12 body with three expression head sculpts — smiling, angry and worried — covering his famously expressive face, plus six interchangeable hands. The accessories are where the humor lives: his beloved hamburger, a watermelon slice, and a vintage skateboard for staging full slapstick chase scenes. An Old Master Q 60th Anniversary yellow-and-blue checkered base with a clear articulated support arm is included, matching the HKCC-01 display setup.

Why it matters

Sidekicks rarely headline a figure line, so a Big Potato release signals Aint Production is building this anniversary series as a proper shelf display rather than a one-off. The accessory choices — food props and the skateboard — are drawn straight from the comic’s gag repertoire, and they pair naturally with the HKCC-01 Old Master Q for two-figure scenes.

The figure lists at HKD 499 (about US$64 converted; no official USD price) on the Aint Production official store at aintproduction.com, where it is still showing as available for pre-order even though the original pre-order cutoff of 22 August 2026 has passed. Animes-Pro (Hong Kong) estimates a June 2027 release. It is also on pre-order at Animes-Pro, and Singapore Carousell sellers list it around S$95–119. As always with extended pre-order windows, confirm the order is still being accepted before paying.
