Ujindao (UJINDOU), the Chinese mainland brand best known for its deep bench of historical 1/6 figures, is turning to a subject that rarely gets the 1/6 treatment: an Italian paratrooper of the 185th Parachute Division “Folgore” as it appeared at the Battle of El Alamein in 1942. The UD9073 is slated for a December 2026 release and is currently up for pre-order.

The package

The set is built around the Folgore division’s distinctive North Africa look. You get the Italian paratrooper helmet in two versions — plain and camouflage — over a new head sculpt, plus the paratrooper tunic, shirt, trousers and a pair of ankle boots.

The field gear is generous: gas mask bag, canteen, mountain backpack with cloth roll, paratrooper kneepads, binoculars, SMG ammo pouch and equipment belt. The standout piece is the Maschinenpistole 739 (the Italian designation for the captured Beretta M38 lineage SMG) rendered with real wood and metal, supplied with four magazines. Two Model 35 grenades and a Model 39 fighting knife round out the loadout.

Insignia collectors are well served too: Folgore division collar patches, rank chevrons, and both paratrooper and commando qualification badges are included. The body comes with relaxed hands plus a pair of gun-holding hands for weapon poses.

Why it matters

Most 1/6 WWII releases orbit the same few subjects, so an Italian figure — and a paratrooper at that — is a genuine gap-filler. The Folgore division has one of the most storied records of the North African campaign: formed in 1941 and committed at El Alamein in 1942, where its paratroopers held their positions against the British Eighth Army despite being outgunned. For collectors who already have German and British desert subjects on the shelf, UD9073 adds the missing third side of that campaign.

It also fits a pattern in Ujindao’s catalogue, which has been steadily working through less-covered WWII subjects — its recent releases include an RSI Italian paratrooper and several Soviet and British figures. That makes UD9073 less of a one-off curiosity and more of a building block: collectors assembling a multi-national WWII display can already pair it with sibling Ujindao releases rather than mixing brands.

The two-helmet option is a practical bonus — the plain helmet reads “parade review,” the camouflage one reads “field” — and the wood-and-metal SMG should photograph considerably better than the usual all-plastic weapons.

Retail listings show the figure at ~$214–250 (OneSixthKit lists $214 total via a $34 deposit; GIJoeElite at $249.99), still carrying pre-order status with a Q4 2026 / December 2026 window. Note that OneSixthKit’s pre-order cutoff was 18 September 2026, so check with your retailer on whether late orders are still being taken.
