VERYCOOL continues its CMG-licensed 1986 Journey to the West line with the Queen of the Kingdom of Women — following Tang Sanzang, Sun Wukong, Zhu Bajie and Sha Wujing onto the same 1/6 platform, this time in two editions: the standard Collector’s Edition (XYJ-013) and the Throne Collector’s Edition (XYJ-013S).

The figure

The Queen comes on VERYCOOL’s medical silicone female body with a steel skeleton and body makeup, topped by a tall red phoenix tail crown with dangling gem earrings and hair sticks. Her costume layers a sheer yellow open-front robe with blue-trimmed sleeves over an embroidered strapless dress, cinched by a red rhinestone belt and finished with red brocade shoes. The box adds a loop gemstone necklace, a gem pendant necklace, hairpin flowers, six replacement hands and an eyeball adjustment tool.

Two editions

The difference is the throne. The standard XYJ-013 set does not include it — the throne, two red pillows with gold patterns and a footrest are exclusive to the XYJ-013S Throne Collector’s Edition, which poses her seated in full court dress.

Why it matters

The ‘86 line has covered the pilgrims; the Queen is its first royal court figure, and the throne edition turns her into a display centrepiece rather than just another shelf figure. If you are collecting the line, the standard edition keeps the set consistent — the throne edition is the one to get if you want the full court scene.
